Nokia WRT Extension for Dreamweaver

Posted in Flash Lite, Flash Lite sites, Forum Nokia, Mobile, Mobile Web, Nokia, S60, S60 Browser, Symbian, Web Runtime on June 9th, 2009

Forum Nokia has published a WRT Extension for Dreamweaver

“The Nokia WRT Extension for Dreamweaver provides features that enable the creation, editing, testing, validation, packaging, and deployment of WRT widgets from within Dreamweaver.

WRT widgets are small, task-focused web applications that are installed and run in the same way as other S60 applications. WRT widgets allow websites or web services to be optimised for use on S60 devices. Because they’re easy to develop and use, WRT widgets are ideal for driving traffic to your website from S60 devices”

Sony Ericsson W595 and W902 are Flash Lite enabled (version??)

Posted in Flash Lite, Flash Lite phones, Flash Lite screensavers, Flash Lite sites, Mobile, Sony Ericsson on July 23rd, 2008

The new Sony Ericsson W595 and W902 are Flash Lite enabled. Funny that the version (??) of Flash Lite is not mentioned but my guess is for Flash Lite 2.0.

Here are the Flash Lite specs: “Flash colour depth, 16-bit (536 colours) ; Flash in Screensaver ; Flash in browser ; Heap size for Flash per content type (MB) 2 ; Language support for device fonts and input according to i-mode specifications ; Enabled sound formats for Flash: Midi”

Sony Ericsson W595 Sony Ericsson W902

Also on the new developer site there is no selection possible for Flash Lite 2.0.

FlashLite 2.x Mxim Framework

Posted in Flash Lite, Flash Lite Applications, Flash Lite Community, Flash Lite sites, Flash Lite tools, Mobile on May 2nd, 2008

Here another great framework that work with Flash Lite 2.x: Mxim Framework

“Mxim Framework facilitates developers to port Web 2.0 experience on mobile devices and concentrate on application logics rather than worry about memory and processing issues on small devices. It also facilitates web developers to port their websites from the desktop environment to mobile devices without sacrificing the richness of their content. The focus of the framework is to replicate the rich user experience on mobile devices that is currently available on the desktop environment. Its a client server environment utilizing the rich possibilities provided by Flash Lite platform on the client device. currently it supports, Flash Lite 2.x – 3.0. It takes care for memory management on mobile device along with taking care of other limited resources on a hand held device.”

Here some demos.

Posted in Flash Lite, Flash Lite phones, Flash Lite sites, Mobile, Sony Ericsson, Windows Mobile on April 18th, 2008

Via WMexpert, a review of the Sony Ericcson Xperia X1

Is flash lite pre-installed – can you ask them to go to YouTube and play a vid?

Flash lite will be pre-installed, but the unit I used wasn’t connected to the net so I couldn’t test YouTube.”

As far as I know this is Flash Lite 3 embedded into the browser.

How Mobile Game Developers Avoid The Carrier’s Deck In Japan, use Flash Lite

Posted in Flash Lite, Flash Lite Games, Flash Lite sites, KDDI, Mobile, Mobile Games, NTTDoCoMo on February 19th, 2008

Via MocoNews, at the Game Developer Conference, David Collier from Pikkle explained how to use Flash Lite to monetize without the need to be on operator’s deck.

“He said by using Flash, the developers won’t have to tweak an application for every phone because it runs in the browser which are fairly standard. And because it’s not an application, it also means that developers can avoid the carrier’s deck as being the main point of distribution.”

Here more infos on David’s session.
