My new toy: Google Nexus One

During the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona I signed up (thanks to Andrea) for the Android developer mini conference. Surprising everyone, Google gave away a brand new Google Nexus One to anyone who attended the sessions.

I played a bit with the phone. It’s very responsive (I bet, with a 1Ghz CPU!!). Touchscreen is good, sometimes too responsive.

There are 5 screens that you can fill with icons/shortcuts. I am setting them up with different icons/apps such as, social, media, news and so on. You cannot choose where to install the applications and it does not start internet connection over WiFi when you needed, you must turn WiFi on first !! Silly. Another issue I found out, you cannot really take a picture of yourself, since the camera button it’s on the screen!

The Market Place is full of free apps. Right, where are the paid ones? Anyone?

By the way the 3 clicks issue is still there. But this is a problem for another post.

  1. Totally cool!

Let me know if you test some of my applications (and if they work! :) )
