Yesterday Dale posted an interesting news about OVI AppWizard, a new service from Nokia OVI Publisher to create apps for the OVI Store. The idea is pretty simple. If you have a blog or site with an rss feed, the OVI AppWizard, takes your feed and creates a customized mobile application.
I asked yestarday to get access to it, this morning got an invitation and published my first 2 mobile applications!
Basically, OVI AppWizard is a step by step web application, gets your site feed, upload couple of banner/icons, customize colors, add mobile ads to monetize from AdMob and DONE! At the end of this process you get a zip file containing, all the necessary files to enter your content in the OVI Publisher, including the WRT and Java application, icons, screenshots and a pdf with all the necessary information.
With these 2 applications, you can address all the devices listed on the OVI Publisher!! It took me 10 minutes to create and publish 2 applications ( 2 wgz and 2 jar).
I am really impressed by how easy and fast was the process but also the potential to have your favorite mobilized web site directly on your phone!!!
UPDATE: it would be cool to add a link to the OVI Store company page so that you can drive traffic to your other apps on the OVI Store!
