Adobe MAX 2006 Flash Lite summary

The Adobe MAX 2006 was my first one so I really cannot compare it to previous ones. I tried to follow all the Mobile sessions and try to manage the schedule around my 4 sessions. Not an easy task. Some session’s schedule overlapped so I could not follow all of them. From my point of view the mobile session were all great sessions, the speakers were really competent and presented great content.
I met al lot of people from the Adobe Mobile and Devices team. A really great experience and got to discuss Flash Lite in the mobile space. A particular “Ciao” to Bill, Tim, Kathy, Rupen, Israel, Francisco, Adam, Ed and all the others.
I got to meet some of the best Flash Lite developers from all around the world, it was great. The funny thing is that some people I had email and chat talks for the past 2 years and finally got meet them in person. Fantastic experience!! There was a great feeling between all Flash Lite developers, great enthusiasm in the future of Flash Lite in the mobile space. I am sure this enthusiasm will continue since these developers are the early adopters of Flash Lite and they are the one driving the Flash Lite community
Personally I really enjoyed the conference, meeting all these people and got to see some interesting sessions. Ofcourse the big news was the availability of Flash Lite content on Verizon. You can buy Flash Lite content right now!!

I got to talk with  Nokia  people and it was great to see their commitment to Flash Lite in the coming mobile phones products.

Overall, great conference. Looking forward to meet other Flash Lite developer next week in Taipei at MAX Asia 2006.

    Alessandro,

Do you know if/when Flash Lite 2.1 player may be avaliable for download? I see that it is downloadable now from the Adobe store for $9.95 but it doesn’t list the phones I use as supported E series Nokia’s.

Will the 2.1 player ever be downloadable for free? Any info that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Are cell phone manufacturers going to allow updating of their devices to FL2.1? Thanks kindly, Dave
