Sony Ericsson Capuchin project, short white paper

Via Hayden, a short document from Sony Ericsson about the Capuchin project.

In addition to the Flash Lite/J2ME API there will a packing tool SWF2JAR and seems that Sony Ericsson phones with these capabilities should be in the market in the second half of 2008.

Flash Lite install base considerations

From the numbers that Bill put together based on the report from the Strategy Analytics Flash-Enabled Handset Forecast from January 4, 2008 last year around 270M Flash Lite enabled handsets were sold.
Now as June 2007, Adobe claimed 300M Flash Lite enabled devices (mobile phones and other devices). So we can just do some math.

Flash Lite statistics, 1.4 billion enabled handsets in next 3 years

Vivek found an interesting report about Flash Lite market research. Finally more market research studies are looking at Flash Lite.
Currently Flash Lite as a technology platform is second to J2ME as installation base. Hopefully we will see more statistics in the near future.
