To distribute your Flash Lite content for Nokia S60 devices it better that everyone becomes familiar with the Symbian Signed process. The Nokia Flash Lite Library has a great section explaining the process.

Remember that there is a cost associated with the Symbian Signed process and that for the OVI Store and content distributed via content aggregators the process is required.

I really don’t understand all this cost
Some times ago, I thought it was to give developpers access to low-level api.
It makes sense to avoid ‘free’ applications which could erase your data or ‘destroy’ your mobile.
but for Flash Lite apps ?!
I mean, if I don’t use the S60 platform service (and I don’t even know if the PService need low level access), what the need for 200$/year + 20$/app ?!
If I’m logical, I should sell my app, no way to make it freeware
I’m REALLY waiting to see what Nokia will do, like they said in their last webinar
my 2 cents, but I assume topics on Symbian Signing can be found everywhere !

Thanks for this Alessandro, I think it’s a missing piece of the development puzzle for Flash Lite for Nokia market, that for some reason never gets discussed. I’ve found it very confusing figuring out the process myself…and what’s required by Nokia, content catalogs, etc.

Ciao,
just a note: if you are distributing sis files from your own site you can just use self signing. You just need to make sure that you get valid UID from Symbian so that your sis does not conflict with existing ones.
