Alessandro, is this in response to the 3rd part application data blocking controversy? … so you mean “data loading-wise”, right?
Ciao Scott,
yes, we tested some other Java apps and it seams that they need to be T-Mobile certified otherwise some capabilities might not work.
So I just give it a try with Flash Lite and it’s fine, loading external data works! Same as unlocked phone. I did not see any Flash Lite content on the phone (was just a quick test!)
So I guess good news for Flash Lite!! I personally think that this phone will do really good.
Alessandro
Alessandro,
Do you know which type of .sis the series 40 runs?
cheers,
Evan
Ciao Evan,
the Nokia 5300 is a S40 which is a Java phone. You cannot use sis files for installation, only JAR/JAD.

In my 5300 Flash lite sound is not working:(
Where can I get flash lite for my nokia 5300? And how exactly does it work? Do I need to load the program onto my mobile? I’d like to use 3rd party apps – but so far no luck – will flash lite help?
Ciao Jason,
your 5300 has already Flash Lite 2.0, you do not need to install anything. You can just transfer Flash Lite content via bluetooth
Alessandro
Ok, I have the 5300 from Tmobile. I had my phone decustomized by iunlock, so all the horrid things that T mobile tried to restrict/change, etc has all been undone, and now the phone is as if it were purchased from Nokia directly. There are no signs of t-mobile anywhere except the faceplate. Now….what I have been driven completely CRAZY by is this….ALL I want is to run Yahoo go 2.0 Gamma on my phone. Yahoo lists my phone as one of the phones that are compatible on thier “View all phones list” but when I try to download it, it says “No valid Certificate” Is is because yahoo is strictly for Symbian??? Will they have a JAR app??? Should I just aim a gun at my head and give up??(sarcasm).
Ciao Branden,
I check the Yahoo Go site and there is no 5300 listed.
http://mobile.yahoo.com/go/
So I tried to installed on my unlocked Nokia 5300 and it worked fine.
Check your security settings.
In any case I see other Nokias so it might still work.
Just FYI, the Nokia 5300 is a Nokia S40 proprietary Java platform, it’s not a Symbian S60 phone.

Thank you Biskero, but I have checked my security settings. Can you or do you know a link to the jar/j2me file. IF you did successfully put it on your 5300, please tell me the exact name of the file, and I wills earch for it myself.
Help me please. I can download everything else it seems.
Ciao
sorry but I do not the file name and location. I just used the 5300 browser to go to the http://mobile.yahoo.com/ site and then follow the download instruction. It recognized I have a 5300.
Alessandro
Do you know how I make an installer JAR which installs the Flash lite file in the main menu (9-up)?
Ciao

Ciao Dany,
the phone has already FL. So you can just transfer FL content and be able to use it. It support FL2.
There is no FL upgrade for S40.
