Via Bill, Qualcomm and Adobe announced that the BREW Mobile Platform will be integrated with Adobe Flash technology.
Another great news and an interesting one too!!
“The differences between the Flash Lite extension model and the BREW Mobile Platform are:
- Adobe Flash technology will be directly integrated into the platform, meaning no per/device per/carrier certification will be required
- BREW developers will be able to use existing native BREW API interfaces directly with Flash via ActionScript – so Flash can become the presentation layer
- The BREW Mobile Platform will be shipping on all mass market BREW handsets worldwide – for all BREW carriers
”
So there will be worldwide availability and integration with BREW API.

So any phone with BREW will support Flash Lite applications ?! wow!!
so much great news these days!!
Ciao William,
seems so! Looks like the S60 idea where the FL player is a adds-on.

I was just kicking around the BREW idea again. Is there any news about device shipments forthcoming? Adobe talks of Q2 2009. To be a viable platform, BREW has got to have device (and carrier…) ubiquity, stay current, and be relatively cheap for independent developers. I’d shell out a few bucks to have the chance at getting an app in front of millions of users, but there’s a limit.
