uLocate launch Where: Location Based Widget platform

uLocate launched Where, a Location Based Widget platform. You can create your widgets services and people can subscribe to. To run the applications you need a GPS enabled mobile phone.

Matt from uLocate and one of the founders with me of Mobile Monday Boston, showed me the services and they are pretty cool. I like a lot the idea of developers having access to API to create LSB services. Look at the service:
“Untether your content with the power of uLocate’s WHERE platform, the same platform underpinning the groundbreaking mobile applications Helio Buddy Beacon and MapQuest Find Me. With WHERE, you rapidly develop and publish feature-rich GPS Widgets across multiple handsets on rapidly growing list of mobile carriers. Creating a WHERE GPS Widget is easy; WHERE provides you with easy to learn WHERE markup, scripts and widget samples that work on your server, with your database, in the web programming language you’re comfortable with.”
